Welcome to our Staff Spotlight Series, where we interview members of The Chef’s Kitchen Catering team! Today we’re chatting with Taylor Bishop, Chef & Culinary Partner at Chef’s Kitchen.
1) How long have you been a Chef?
I graduated in 2015 with my Associate’s degree from Johnson and Wales University I really don’t consider myself a “Chef”, as I feel like that title comes with experience and you need to earn that title I’m not there yet, but I’m working toward it with Chef’s Kitchen.
2) What inspired you to go into the culinary field?
My grandmother. She is the one that taught me how to cook when I was 10. When I turned 16 I knew I had a passion for cooking and I wanted to expand knowledge & skills.
3) What are some of your favorite foods to prepare?
I like to cook any and everything, if I don’t know how to make a dish I will make that dish a thousand times until I get it right, but I will say any pasta is my go-to dish.
4) What’s you favorite thing about being in the catering business, and why?
There are so many things I enjoy! As a caterer you get to meet new people and everyone is different, everyone has different taste, so it’s like each event is a different experience. There is never a dull moment in catering either, it may be good or bad but you are always learning and growing.
5) What do you look forward to doing with Chef’s Kitchen Catering this year?
I look forward to keep expanding business and becoming one of the best catering companies in the Charlotte area. I want us to be known for our excellent service, great food && fun.
